Hello! My name is Kristen DeFazio.
I'm a graduate from Tyler School of Art, Temple University in Philadelphia with a BFA in both Graphic & Interactive Design and Printmaking.
In my most recent full-time position, I oversaw the conceptualization and execution of company-wide creative work. I supervised junior designers, helping others to continually learn and push their creativity and craft. I have experience working with a wide variety of industries such as financial, healthcare, retail, technology, food services and more.
My value as a designer and professional includes providing unique and sophisticated solutions while maintaining long lasting relations with clients. I enjoy working collaboratively in a team setting and learning from other skilled creatives. I believe designers have a commitment to social responsibility and love opportunities to work with non-profits.
I really enjoy illustration which is often found in large portion of both my design and printmaking works. I intend to specialize in motion graphics and possibly enter into game design, but I am also eager expand more into interactive design.
Besides design and art, I'm a fan of mythology, fantasy/sci-fi, tabletop RPGs, comics, and anything along those lines. Other interesting nerdy tidbits:
- Foster parent for Philly Rat Rescue since 2009
- Joined Diamond State Roller Derby in August 2017
- Attend open artist studios at the Delaware Contemporary
- Belong to a board game and sci-fi/fantasy book club
- DM (and play) Dungeons & Dragons
